Doors we install
A new door changes how a room looks, sounds and feels to use every day.
- Interior doors: pre-hung and slab replacements
- Closet doors: bifold, sliding and mirrored
- Pocket door slabs and hardware
- Storm and screen doors
- Front and exterior door replacement in houses
- Patio and sliding doors you’ve already bought
- Casing, trim and hardware, and trimming doors to clear new flooring
Pre-hung or slab?
A pre-hung door comes already in its frame. It suits openings where the old frame is damaged or out of square. A slab is just the door, cut and drilled to fit your existing frame.
Slabs keep your trim in place, while pre-hung doors usually need new casing.
Your door or ours
You can buy the door yourself or ask us to supply it. Either way, your quote lists the door, the hardware and the casing as separate lines.
Doors after new flooring
New floors are often thicker than the old ones, so doors start to rub. We take each door off, trim the bottom and rehang it so it swings clear. If new floors are on the way, our flooring services can install them first.
Trim and paint
Fresh casing, a little caulk and paint make a new door look built in. Finish carpentry and trim can replace tired casing, and our painters can finish the door and trim.
How pricing works

- Number and type of doors

- Hardware and locks
- Painting or staining
The number and type of doors, pre-hung or slab, and the trim work shape your quote. The door, hardware and paint each get their own line.

- Before we start, you’ll know whether the old frame stays.

Your questions, answered
Do you supply the door, or can I buy it?
Either works. We can supply the door, or install one you bought yourself. Your quote shows the door and hardware as their own lines.
How long does an interior door take?
A slab in a sound frame is a short job, while a pre-hung door with new casing takes longer. Painting adds drying time between coats. Your quote sets out what each door involves.
Can you shorten doors after new flooring?
Yes. We take each door off, trim the bottom to clear the new floor and rehang it. Bifold and sliding closet doors often need their tracks adjusted too.
Do I need a permit?
Not in Toronto, if you’re replacing a door in the same opening of a single-unit house. Condos and multi-unit buildings need a building permit and approval from the building first.
What does door installation cost?
The door type, pre-hung or slab, and the trim work all affect your quote. Each door, its hardware and any painting appear as separate lines. Text us a photo of the opening for a faster quote.
