Safety upgrades we install
A slippery tub or a single stair rail can make getting around home harder than it should be.
- Grab bars in showers, tubs and beside toilets, into studs or rated anchors
- Tile, fibreglass and acrylic surrounds
- Stair handrails on both sides, and exterior railings
- Lever door handles and easy-grip hardware
- Non-slip stair treads
- Raised toilet seats and safety frames
Grab bars on tile, without cracks
Tile cracks when a drill bit wanders or someone overtightens an anchor. We drill slowly with tile bits and fix into the studs behind the wall.
Where no stud lines up, anchors rated for grab bars hold the bar instead. On fibreglass and acrylic tubs, special anchors grip the thin wall from behind.
Where grab bars help most
Beside the toilet, at the tub entry and along the shower wall are the usual spots. You choose the height with us, based on the person who will use them.
Advice from an occupational therapist is a good guide if you have it.
A second stair handrail
A rail on both sides of the stairs gives steady support going up and coming down. Your new rail goes into solid backing at a comfortable, even height.

Your questions, answered
Can you install grab bars on tile without cracking it?
Yes. We drill with tile bits and fix into studs or anchors rated for grab bars. A cracked tile is rare when the drilling is slow and careful.
Where should grab bars go?
Common spots are beside the toilet, at the tub entry and along the shower wall. The right height depends on who will use them, so we place them with you. Advice from an occupational therapist helps if you have it.
Can you add a second stair handrail?
Yes. A rail on both sides gives support in either direction, and we fix it into solid backing. Exterior railings at the front steps are possible too.
Do you install handles that are easier to grip?
Yes. Lever door handles and easy-grip cabinet pulls help hands that find knobs hard to turn. They go on your existing doors and cabinets.
