Why homeowners call us

Bumps or lifting edges can spoil a new vinyl floor.

Signs it's time to call

Vinyl edges that curl or lift
Bumps showing through the finish
Damage across several planks

Repair

One loose plank may only need replacement if the floor below is sound. We check why the edge lifted.

Replace

Lifting across several planks may call for a new floor. New vinyl cannot flatten a damaged base. Water-resistant vinyl cannot stop a leak underneath.

How the job works

1

First, a proper look

Want vinyl that lies flat and fits your doorways? Moisture or bumps underneath can spoil the result. We check these and measure the space under appliances and doors, so you know if your old floor can stay.

2

Your options

Most jobs can be done more than one way. We go through what the job needs, what is optional and what each choice costs, so the decision is yours.

3

The work

Your selected vinyl goes over a prepared floor, fitted to the product instructions. We plan room edges and door transitions. If we find damage underneath, we explain it before new planks cover it.

4

A final check together

Smooth joints, edges and trim make the finished floor feel complete. We check them with you and share care advice. Water-resistant planks cannot waterproof the floor below them.

Your questions, answered

Will waterproof vinyl stop a damp basement floor?

No, vinyl may resist spills, but it cannot stop moisture rising from below. We look for the water source before laying anything.

Can thick vinyl planks hide bumps in my floor?

Even thick planks need a flat base. You’ll know about any levelling work before we install your new floor.

Do click vinyl and glue-down vinyl need different preparation?

Yes, the product and condition of your floor determine the preparation. We’ll explain those steps before installation.

Can new cabinets sit on a floating vinyl floor?

Some floating floors need room to move. We check the product directions before placing cabinets on your new floor.

Why are the joins in my vinyl floor lifting?

The boards or floor underneath may be the cause. You’ll know whether a plank or the base needs repair.
