Our flooring services in Toronto

Installers, not a showroom

Many Toronto searches for flooring lead to stores and showrooms. Our part is the installation: preparing your floor and laying the product you choose. If you already bought flooring, tell us the product, and we’ll check it suits the room.

A level base under the new floor

A new floor can only be as flat as the base under it. Before installing, we look for dips, humps and soft spots, then level or repair them. The underlay that suits your product goes down next.

Transitions, baseboards and shoe moulding

Where your new floor meets another room, a stair or a door, the height can change. We plan the transition strips first. Then the baseboards and shoe moulding go back on, or new ones replace them, as your quote describes.

Doors that still swing

A thicker floor can leave a door rubbing at the bottom. Before installation, we measure the gap under each door in the room.

Your old floor

Carpet, tile or old laminate may need to come up before the new floor goes in. Your quote says whether removal is part of the job. Damage hidden under the old floor gets a price before we cover it.

Condo flooring rules

Toronto condo buildings often set rules for sound control, underlay and elevator use. Before ordering, we’ll go through your building’s requirements and the layers the new floor uses. You’ll have a clear plan to take to your management office.

Moisture in basements

Basement slabs can hold moisture that harms wood and some adhesives. We look for damp areas before suggesting a product.

Want wood floors? Hardwood floor installation covers solid and engineered boards.

For kitchens, basements and busy entrances, vinyl flooring installation is a practical choice.

A wood look with less upkeep comes from laminate flooring.

For a bathroom or entry, read about our tile installation service before choosing.

Already have hardwood that looks tired? Hardwood floor refinishing may bring it back without a new floor.

New baseboards after the floor goes in? Finish carpentry and trim covers them.

Does your flooring job need a permit?

Changing a floor finish differs from changing the structure beneath it. We explain any extra steps before changing that plan.

Flooring questions from Toronto homeowners

Do you supply the flooring, or can I buy my own?

You can buy your own flooring, and we’ll install it if it suits the room. Send us the product name when you ask for a quote. Materials appear as their own lines on your itemized quote.

Can you put new flooring over my old floor?

Sometimes the old floor can stay. First, we check whether water or movement makes it unsuitable.

What floor works in a Toronto basement?

Moisture and daily use both shape the choice. Vinyl and tile handle damp better than solid hardwood, once any leak has been fixed.

Will the new floor make my doors stick?

A thicker finish can change the space below a door. We check the height before installation and include any door trimming in your quote. Your doors should still swing freely.

Does my condo need to approve new flooring?

Many buildings have sound and installation rules. Before ordering, we’ll discuss yours and describe the proposed product. Your management office can review the floor plan.

Do you install engineered hardwood?

Yes. Engineered boards can float, glue down or nail down, depending on the product and the subfloor. We follow the maker’s instructions for your boards.
